The automobile braking system has first wheel brakes (VL1,VR1) and second wheel brakes (VL2,VR2), for independent braking of the vehicle front wheels, supplied with the braking pressure via respective independent braking circuits, with a brake pressure modulator (14) controlled by signals from a sensor (6) detecting the brake pedal operation. The wheel brakes are adjusted so that the sum braking force corresponds to the depression of the brake pedal (5).
