The electromagnetic operating device has an actuator (2) provided with an opening magnet (6) and a closing magnet (5) for movement of a spring-loaded armature (7), the movement of the latter coupled to the gas changing valve (3,4). The actuator is secured to the cylinder head of the IC engine via a coupling element which flexes in a direction at an angle to the longitudinal movement axis (12) of the armature.
