An electro-hydraulic actuator in the form of a proportional valve for pressure regulation especially in auto gearboxes for cars has an armature (2) which is supported in a pressure-compensated armature chamber (9) in the valve housing in sliding fashion and is connected via an armature rod (8) with a valve slider (7). The valve housing is provided with an opening going through it which opens out in the armature chamber in an extension of the armature rod with respect to the free end of the armature. A pressure sensor is inserted into this opening in pressure-tight fashion and it generates electrical output signals as a function of the measured pressure values.
