Coiled body (1) comprises a strip-like carrier (3) in a casing (2). The carrier has ribs (4) between which are pockets (5) filled with an adsorbent (6) made of absorbing granules. The carrier has one or more heat carrier guides (7) within the casing. An Independent claim is also included for a process for production of the coiled body comprising profiling the carrier; simultaneously coating the carrier with a binder and/or supplementing the binder; inserting the adsorbent into pockets within the binder layer; press-rolling the layer with partial removal and recycling of the binder; partially drying the binder in connection with the adsorbent; roll molding the coiled body and removing the green body from the strip-like carrier with application of a casing; rolling and/or isostatically pressing the coiled body; and completely removing the binder. Preferred Features: The carrier has a molding zone (8) on at least one of its side regions, the zone containing a reduced amount of adsorbent in the pockets or none at all.
