The compound peroxochloric acid (I) (containing pentavalent chlorine) and its derivatives, anions and salts are new. Peroxochloric acid of formula HOOClO2 (I) and its derivatives, anions and salts (specifically the alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, zinc, amine and ammonium salts) are new. The compounds are also claimed in aqueous or water-containing solution. An Independent claim is included for the preparation of (I).
