A process for the production of impact-resistant plastics involves: (a) making crosslinked rubber particles from a monomer mixture (1) containing at least 50 wt.% conjugated diene; (b) adding the rubber particles to another monomer mixture (2) containing at least 85 (preferably at least 90, most preferably at least 98) wt.% styrene and (c) polymerizing mixture 2. An Independent claim is also included for impact resistant plastics obtained by this process.
