Method involves arranging coupling ends of incoming optical waveguides on a common rotation axis forming the center of a circle on which the coupling ends of the outgoing optical waveguides are arranged and transferring light from two or more optical inputs to the corresponding optical outputs via a transmission optical waveguide integrated into a rotary part. Independent claims are also included for the following: a rotary switch for optical waveguides and for the use of the method for optical measurements in multiplex mode and for laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy.
