Flow mixer for the flows in a turbofan jet aircraft engine has a flower petal shape with structured alternating radial trough channels for an increased mixing action without loss of pressure
The mixer in a twin-circuit turbofan aircraft jet engine, with a flower petal shape, mixes the bypass flow from a fan with hot gas flow from the central jet of the engine. The mixer has equidistant trough channels (2,2',3) round the circumference (U) alternating radially outwards and inwards to guide the bypass and hot gas flows. The end of each channel is formed by a flat section, pitched at an angle from the ends of some channels (2') against the ends of the other channels (2,3) so that their ends open at different points in the flow direction (S), offset against each other. The channels (2,2') aligned radially outwards, in the peripheral (U) direction, are alternately offset against each other in the flow direction (S). The channel groups (11) are repeated round the circumference (U) periodically or in a mirror symmetry.
