Method uses wire strain gauges (5) attached directly to the wiper of a screen printer machine to measure and record or display the pressure exerted by the wiper so that it can be used to ensure repeatability of printing. The voltages of the strain gauges are converted to pressure values. One or more gauges can be positioned along the wiper to give increasing accuracy of pressure measurement.
