The wiper device includes a driven wiper arm (1) with a swivel yoke (2) at the free end attached in a first stage. There are also yokes (3, 4) of at least a further stage mounted side by side in at least the surface running parallel to the windscreen. The wiper arm lies downstream of the yokes relative to the driving wind acting on the wiper. The additional yokes in sections perpendicular through same overall lie inside a wedged cross-section with the wedge tip directed upstream relative to the driving wind.
