A composition (I) for stimulating the growth of hair growth on the scalp, including water, alcohol and other additives for dissolving dead skin components and oil for counteracting dryness of the scalp, comprises ethanol, salicylic acid, 'Liquor Carbonis detergens', castor oil, peanut oil, and optionally triamcinolone acetonide, camphor, templin oil and purified water. A composition (I) for stimulating the growth of hair growth on the scalp, including water, alcohol and other additives for dissolving dead skin components and oil for counteracting dryness of the scalp, comprises (per 100 g of liquid) 15-25 mg ethanol, 0.17-0.185 mg salicylic acid, 0.17-0.185 mg 'Liquor Carbonis detergens', 0.3-0.4 mg castor oil, 2.8-2.9 mg peanut oil, 0-0.004 mg triamcinolone acetonide, 0-0.4 mg camphor, 0-0.4 mg templin oil and the remainder purified water.
