Procedure in which the flows in both the supply and return pipes of a circulation system are measured. The values derived from the measurement sensors are directly compared and any difference processed further by a measurement analysis system. The sensors can be ultrasonic, calorimetric, inductive, differential pressure, etc. A threshold value can be defined above which an alarm is triggered.
