The lift device has a supply shaft(11) leading from a lower deck(4) to one or more passenger decks(2,3). A means of transporting(12) in the form of a lift cage or transporting platform is located in the shaft and by means of a load unit(13) in the form of an extendable telescopic drive can be lowered in the vertical direction onto the ground below through an opening(14) in the fuselage(1). The load unit is a component part of the supply shaft and upon demand is movable towards the ground below.
