A sanitary towel comprises an absorbing member with an adhesive section for attachment to underwear. The adhesive section is covered with a protective strip which can be removed and which does not stick to the adhesive. The strip (3) is non-stick on both sides, and covers part of the adhesive section (2). The remaining area is covered by the other side of the strip when the towel is folded.
