A filter press has a gas-tight pressure chamber (19) consisting of stationary pressing plates and hydraulic pressure chamber walls (1, 3). Sealing chambers are provided in all supporting surfaces of the pressure chamber walls of the stamp (5) and the stationary table plate (6), inserted in sealing packets and plastically deformable over the pressure plates and an adjusting wedge by means of hydraulic adjusting parts. An Independent claim is also included for a control and regulating device for a filter press. Preferred Features: The adjusting parts are subjected to a differential sealing pressure.
