The fixing device has a pair of clamp jaws (16,18) connected via a screw coupling (20), provided with notches (22) for receiving the side flanges of the T-shaped track rail, one of the clamp jaws having a seating (28) for the terminal head for the heating rod. This is secured via a clamp bolt (32) fitted into a bore between the seating and the notch, so that the clamp bolt is moved into engagement with the heating rod as the clamp jaws are tightened.
