Treatment of legionnaire's disease using pulmonary surfactant preparation, preventing acute lung injury or adult respiratory distress syndrome without risk of development of resistance

The use of a pulmonary surfactant preparation (I) for the treatment of legionnaire's disease is new. Independent claims are included for: (i) the use of (I) for the preparation of a medicament for treating legionnaire's disease; (ii) a method for treating legionnaire's disease in humans or other mammals, involving administration of (I); and (iii) a commercial product consisting of conventional secondary packaging material, a primary packaging material (e.g. an ampoule) containing a pharmaceutical preparation and optionally a leaflet, where the preparation contains (I) for treating or preventing legionnaire's disease and the secondary packaging or the leaflet indicates the suitability of the preparation for this use.
