Regeneration of a titanium containing zeolite catalyst, used for epoxidation, comprises distillation of the reaction solution into a liquid fraction containing hydrogen peroxide residue and catalyst
A process for the regeneration of a titanium containing zeolite catalyst is characterized by distillation of the reaction solution into a liquid fraction containing hydrogen peroxide residue and catalyst allowing regeneration of the catalyst. A process for the regeneration of a titanium atom containing zeolite catalyst, used for the production of epoxides from olefins and hydrogen peroxide, comprises treatment with a 0.01-70 wt.% hydrogen peroxide solution containing less than 10 mol % olefin (w.r.t hydrogen peroxide) at 0-200 deg C and is characterized by distillation of the reaction solution comprising catalyst, epoxide, olefin, hydrogen peroxide residue , water and solvent into a liquid fraction of a solution containing hydrogen peroxide residue and catalyst; and a gaseous fraction comprising olefin and epoxide whereby the catalyst is regenerated in the liquid fraction alone or by addition of additional hydrogen peroxide or the liquid fraction is further separated and the catalyst regenerated in another liquid with hydrogen peroxide and a solvent.
