An area of a component of the gas turbine is separated along a predeterminable interface (3) through a focussed material jet of water preferably mixed with abrasive substances, and a replacement or connecting part (3) is then locked with keyed engagement onto the interface. Several cutting lines can be provided so that after connecting the replacement part to the component it is prevented from sliding in a direction of the main operating load on the component.
