Surface acoustic wave device has reflector blocks providing reflection angle into neutral region

The SAW device is formed on a piezoelectric substrate (S) having an edge (SK). A number of reflector blocks (RB) with finger structure are arranged between an interdigital transducer (IDT) and the substrate edge, as viewed in the direction (x) of propagation of the surface acoustic waves. Each reflector block has an angle of reflection which reflects a wave incident on the interdigital transducer into a neutral region. A conversion structure may be provided in the neutral region.
