A wiper blade for the cleaning of panes on vehicles, especially cars, is described. The adapter-fixing region is formed by at least one notch on at least one long side (9) into which the adapter (10) engages under elastic deformation of the material of the wiper blade located between the support rails. The notch is formed by at least one recess (25) into which the adapter or a projection on the adapter engages. The notch is formed by at least one projection on at least one long side, e.g., by a part length of the long side between two projections.
