Continuously operating equipment for paper-sheet feed on sheet-paper printing machines include the function of moving a residual paper sheet stack and of inserting the auxiliary stack carrier between the paper sheet stack without causing an unacceptable amount of waste or scrap. To achieve this, a carrier element (13) of the auxiliary stack carrier (5) is provided with a tip facing the stack region and the tip is assigned a plunger which can be carried against the residual stack (7) independently of the auxiliary stack carrier (5).
