The safety bleed coupling for a pipe which carries a gas under pressure, and especially compressed air, has a safety valve (34) within the coupling bush. The valve body has at least two flow channels (36), on both sides of the flow barrier (35), which are axially offset and have a radial alignment to open out on both sides at the valve seat (37) at the valve body (17). They are covered by a valve closure (38) with an axial adjustment action. It has a seal (42) which wholly closes the flow cross section, and a sealed channel (39) for connection to the flow channel (36).
