An object e.g. beaker (3) carried in a receiver module (2) is at least partly separated from the passenger compartment or boot space by a covering (4) and at least the receiver module (2) is releasably joined, preferably latched, to the compartment paneling or the seat cladding or covering (4). The paneling is recessed (5) for the module (2) and the recessed area divided off from the passenger compartment or alternatively the seat cladding is recessed for the module and similarly divided off from the compartment. The covering (4) is bowl-shaped and projects into the compartment off the paneling or cladding as appropriate and stands in front of the recessed area (5). The beaker etc (3) can be completely separated from the compartment by a seal or closure releasably joined to paneling, cladding or covering (4) and when sealed in thus the beaker temperature can be controlled by an air-conditioner system.
