The kitchen unit worktop (1) is made of a temperature-resistant material and has a dished recess for providing a sink bowl (2) and a seating (20) for reception of a cooking hob (5), with openings provided in the worktop for the tap and plug fittings for the sink bowl and a seating (7) provided for an operating control panel (12) adjacent the cooking hob. The rear edge of the worktop is lipped upwards to provide a splash-back (3), provided with fixings (3a) for holders for kitchen utensils.
