The meter has a circuit for detecting rotations and the rotation direction of a transducer shaft and a direction-dependent meter unit that adds or subtracts to display a current summation value. Switching elements offset in the rotation direction are activated by a magnetic field varying with the rotation of the transducer shaft to generate pulses corresponding to the rotation counts.
