The radial ventilation fan (27) has 2 fan stages, each provided with a spiral housing having an axial suction opening and a tangential discharge opening, containing a centrifugal fan wheel, fitted to one of the drive shafts projecting from either side of a central electric drive motor. The drive shafts are aligned with the automobile longitudinal axis, each fan stage contained within a ventilation channel (23,24) leading to the floor of the passenger compartment, with the fan stages separated from one another by a defined gap.
