Production of tertiary alkyl alkenyl ethers by reacting tertiary alcohols with acetylenes in the liquid phase in the presence of an alkali metal base comprises limiting the alcohol conversion to 90 % or less, extracting the crude product with water and isolating the product from the organic phase.
