Light fibers (2) of fiberglass are arranged as light conductors to operate as sensors and are laid out in contact strips (4) on a tennis court. The sensors are used in pairs so that the distance to a contact point from each sensor is determined and this is used to determine the distance to the contact point and also the size of contact so foot contacts can be excluded. Independent claims are made for: (1) monitoring software; (2) amplifier strips; (3) a contact point coordinate calculation method.
