An upper electrode (9) adjusts in respect of a lower electrode (11). Both electrodes have a level contact surface (13) facing each other adapted to the form of grating (14) with crossing wires for the welding routine. After inserting the grating the upper electrode is driven down until the contact surface of the electrodes lies on the wires in frames or rings under precompression.
