Organosilicon compounds with side chains containing quaternary ammonium groups derived from amines with at least two tert. nitrogen atoms. Organosilicon compounds are of formula (I): [Image] (a+b) : 25-900; (a:b) : 10-200; R1hydroxy, alkoxy or R2; R21-6C alkyl, preferably methyl; R3at least 2C alkylene, preferably 3C or 4C alkylene; R4at least 2C (preferably 2-10C) alkylene, optionally with in-chain hetero atoms; R5-R7alkyl or alkylene, with the proviso that there is an even number of alkylene groups and pairs of alkylene groups are combined to form groups as described for R4; R8R5 or a group of formula -R4-N(R8)-R7, with the proviso that each side chain contains no more than 4 groups R8. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a method for the production of (I) from the corresponding siloxane compounds with haloalkyl side chains (Si-R3-X), by reaction with amines of formula R5R6N-R4-NR7R8 (containing at least two tertiary nitrogens); (b) preparations containing (I). X : chlorine, bromine or iodine.
