The heat insulating building block has two longitudinal walls (LS) and two transverse walls (QS). Multiple partitions (S) extends between the longer walls (S) to form parallel sided hollow channels. At least one part of the hollow channels form cut outs to define a chamber between the longer walls. The thickness of the longer walls is twelve and a half millimeters. The chamber can extend for at least forty percent of the long side of the block.
