New mesenchymal stem cell antigen, for producing monoclonal antibodies for e.g. bone marrow typing, tumor diagnosis, or recovering autologous stem cells from whole blood for treating non-healing wounds

A mesenchymal stem cell antigen (Ag), is new. A mesenchymal stem cell antigen (Ag) produced by: (i) growing human mesenchymal stem cells (A) to a confluent monolayer; (ii) releasing cells with trypsin/ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA); (iii) incubating with detergent; and (iv) separating by gel, lectin-affinity and diethylaminoethyl (DEAE) ion-exchange chromatographies, is new. The Ag-containing fractions are combined and the approximately 32 kD fraction separated by immunoaffinity chromatography, using a monoclonal antibody (MAb) obtained from hybridoma DSM ACC 2402. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) hybridoma DSM ACC 2402; (2) MAb; and (3) an immunological test kit containing at least one MAb.
