The method involves closing the inlet (3) and outlet regions of a channel system within the component by evacuating the channel system to a predefined vacuum pressure and inserting closure elements (5) into the inlet and outlet regions in this state. The closure elements are inserted automatically, especially at a vacuum pressure of 0.2 bars. Independent claims are also included for the following: a component, especially an evaporator, with closure elements.
