The endotracheal tube has an outer pipe (1) and an inner pipe, the exotracheal ends of both pipes fitted with a fixing element (2), for supporting the endotracheal tube from the neck of the patient and an adpater element (3), for fixing the inner pipe to the outer pipe. A removable filter element (4) having a cylindrical housing (8) with peripherally spaced air intake openings (10) is fitted to the fixing element or the adpater element.
