The brake has several rectangular or cylindrical similar magnets (3) rotatable about a horizontal axis (6) transverse to the direction of travel, magnetised in a direction through the axis, with a control device, commonly rotatable by at least 90 degrees and suspended (1) sequentially in the direction of travel immediately above the rail (2).
