Adjusting element is made of a porous body with a three-dimensional network structure having pores with an average diameter of 5-1000 mu m, a porosity of 70-25% and a planar surface. An independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the adjusting element comprising molding a foil using a slurry based on water containing water-insoluble organic solvent, vaporizing the solvent to convert the foil into a porous body with a three-dimensional network structure and drying the body, and calcining the structured body.
