A channel (1) with a film feed connection (3) and suction connections (2A,2B) to a suction chamber section (5) houses two alternately reciprocating pistons (4A,4B). The pistons are moved by a motor driven crank(9) with two crank levers (9A,9B) which are offset relative to each other so that one of the pistons is at the front reversing point while the other is at the rear reversing point. Independent claims are also included for: (a) similar compacting equipment in which the drive motor for the crank (9) has a variable speed; (b) similar compacting equipment in which the suction connections (2A,2B) are connected to two separate dust sacks via hoses, suction blowing fans and a T-shaped distributor with two shut off valves.
