The deflector has a deflectable deflector body with a section for fixing it in the sheet processing device and an engagement end that can adopt different positions to feed sheets along different paths according to the deflection state. The deflection body is coupled to a material whose volume varies for with external influences so the body can be brought into various deflection states by using the external influences in a directed manner. The deflector has a deflectable deflector body (11) with an attachment section (15) for fixing the body in the sheet processing device and an engagement end (13) that can adopt different positions according to the deflection state of the deflector body to feed the sheets to be transported along different paths (22,33) according to the deflection state. The deflection body is coupled to a material whose volume varies for constant mass depending on external influencing parameters so that the deflection body can be brought into the various deflection states by using the external influences in a directed manner. Independent claims are also included for the following: a sheet transporter, a sheet processor and a banknote processor.
