The device for changing low temperature liquids into gaseous state by taking in heat from atmospheric air uses several vertical mounted evaporator pipes having metal ribs on the outside arranged so that the ribs of each evaporator pipe fit tight against each other and are arranged around a closed circumference to form an evaporator shaft (11) which is only open to the atmosphere top and bottom. Independent claim describes method for influencing gas outlet temperature where under summer temperatures the throttle device (15) at the lower end of the shaft is closed so that the atmospheric air cooled down on the ribbed evaporator pipes is prevented from flowing out of the shaft.
