Polyacrylates obtained by the thermal crosslinking of a mixture containing (a) an acrylate copolymer with hydroxyalkyl acrylate units protected by tert.-butoxycarbonyl groups; (b) a photoinitiator; and (c) a bifunctional isocyanate and/or epoxide. Polyacrylates obtained by the thermal crosslinking of a polymer mixture containing (wt.%) (a) a copolymer (80-99.8) of (1) 65-99 wt.% (meth)acrylate esters of formula (I) ; (2) 0-15 wt.% olefinically unsaturated monomers with functional groups; (3) 1-20 wt.% (meth)acrylates in which the alcohol component contains tert.-butoxycarbonyl (BOC) and/or hydroxyl groups, (b) photoinitiator (0.1-15); and (c) bifunctional isocyanate and/or bifunctional epoxide (0.1-5). H 2C=C(R 1)(COOR 2) (I) R 1H or Me; and R 21-20C alkyl. Independent claims are also included for methods for the production of crosslinked polyacrylates by protecting the polymer with BOC groups and crosslinking only after the protecting groups have been removed by (1) thermal treatment; (2) addition of crosslinkers and thermal treatment; (3) addition of bi- or poly-functional isocyanates and thermal treatment; or (4) addition of bi- or poly-functional epoxides and thermal treatment.
