The saw has at least one fixed saw or cutter formation (3). The formation has spaced teeth lying in a plane (5) inside a determined arc that curves smoothly and radially from a given radius (9), which is different from the radius of a carrier holder (1), to a radius that is not more than that of the carrier holder. The carrier holder is formed, so that a carrier (5) fixed to it can be moved in an arc, parallel to the plane of the teeth. The carrier is formed so that it can move on a track, which itself moves on a radius that is larger than the smallest radial spacing between the saw formation and the carrier movement axis.
