The work stations have a drive mandrel holding a workpiece in rotation. A first centring unit (37) comprises a toothed segment (51) which interacts with a gear wheel (43, 54) of the drive mandrel and is aligned relative to the cogged drive means (35). The toothed segment has a first centring tooth whose centre plane is off-set from the rotary axis of the drive mandrel, and a second centring tooth whose centre plane intersects the rotary axis of the mandrel. The centring unit can be moved between a rest position and centring position where the centring teeth engage with the teeth of the gearwheel.
