A starter element in the form of a multiple disc clutch (6) has steel plates on which a piston exerts pressure. The piston and a pressure-equalizing chamber are positioned on the continuously rotating side (7) of the multiple-disc clutch. A single-side plate (10) is positioned on the start and end of the set of plates belonging to the multiple disc clutch.
