Vertical struts supporting the upper side of the desk-top (2) are moved to and fro by means of one or more electric motors contained in a desk-frame which has at least one leg (1). The desk frame consists of two lengthwise profiles (4) and at least one transverse bridge (5). Beneath the one or two transverse bridges on the outside in relation to the desk-top are vertical holders (3.2) holding the lower part of a strut and motor-driven adjustment for it. A top part of the strut protrudes beyond the upper side of the transverse bridge when pulled out.
