The DC supply device has a rectifier arrangement with an associated electronic switch and storage capacitor. The system for supplying of DC current includes an electronic switching circuit (4) and a charging regulator unit (7) connected in series to the storage capacitor (6). There is also a discharge diode (8) connected in parallel. The charge regulating unit contains a linear adjusting element (71) with a limiting element (72).
