Antisense oligodeoxynucleotides (I) for inhibiting expression of polo-like kinase (A) in tumor cells, are new. (I) have formulae 5'-CCTGACCAGCCCACGCTCCG (Ia) and/or 5'-CCCA5GCGGCCCC (Ib) and may be modified to protect against enzymatic degradation.
