The device has a compression cooling system consisting of a compressor (1), evaporator (2), condenser (3), coolant collector (4) and expansion valve (5). The evaporator is a counter flow plate heat exchanger of corrosion-resistant form and the condenser is air-cooled. The compressor motor (6) is driven via an inverter (7) by a photovoltaic generator (8) and the evaporator outlet (9) on the water side opens into an insulated water reservoir (10).
