The hollow profile is formed from a strip of sheet metal and has longitudinal folded bars (14) projecting at a slight angle from its side walls (12,13) on its inner side (10). A wall with an inserted bar (18) fits into the cavity (17) formed in the folded bar. The inserted bar is part of a side wall (12) and has a groove (19) extending inwards, which positively engages an outer curved part (20) of the folded bar to form a weld connection.
