The device has an electric motor (1), a reduction planet gear (2) and a planet roller screw spindle drive (3) to convert rotation into linear movement of a pressing tool. A path sensor detects the distance covers and a sensor determines the pressure force. A threaded spindle (31) of the spindle drive is directly coupled to the output shaft (22) of the planet drive. A threaded nut (32) acts on the pressing tool and is guided as an inner sleeve (32) in an outer fixed sleeve (34) with opposing involute toothing, to support the reaction torque in the linear direction.
